The performance of the island method in the Lindahl benchmark for fold recognition. We show the difference in the percentage of the relationships identified by the island and the direct method (% island – % direct) in the first and the top five ranks, at each SCOP level (family, superfamily and fold). In this analysis we used the Multinomial scoring system. Similar results were obtained with the other three scoring schemes (data not shown).
