The percentage of "outlier" spots, P out , is plotted versus PMT gain in slide #3. P out = N out /N with N out being the number of events where a spot is found to be an "outlier" between two successive scans and N = (Nscans -1) × n spots (Nscans is the number of scans in the series and n spots is the number of spots on the slide). The lines with triangles are those obtained for the Cy3 signal (532 nm) and the lines with lozenges are for the Cy5 signal (635 nm).
