The Ontological Gene Orthology methodology. The methodology has four main steps: (1) Information capture from the resources; (2) Design of the domain ontology, in this case, the orthology ontology; (3) Definition of the mapping rules between the resources and the ontology, which aligns the entities used in the resources and the ones defined in the ontology and which will drive the data integration process; and (4) Integration of the information to generate the ontological knowledge base.
