Degree distribution of the gene nodes for 7 diseases in the network showing more than half of the genes implicated in one disease (specific genes), two genes implicated in 5 diseases (non-specific genes), and none of the genes implicated in all diseases. The overall pattern of many specific genes and fewer non-specific genes holds even when 3 diseases with small sample sizes were excluded from the dataset.
