Visualize one metabolic pathway. The pathway ethylene biosynthesis and methionine cycle is drawn using the yFiles Organic layout style [8] in Cytoscape (left) and 3D tiered layout in MetNetGE (right). The metabolite layer is chosen as the major plane in MetNetGE. The 3D tiered layout shows that the basic metabolic flow is a cycle in the metabolite layer and that three protein complexes catalyze the metabolic reactions (blue edges from the polypeptide layer to the metabolite layer).
