Phylogeny of study species. This shows the phylogenetic tree for the study species used in this paper. The evolutionary relationship is shown for the ten yeast species used [53, 54]. S. cerevisiae proteins resulting from gene duplication events are thought to retain the same interactions as the original gene for millions of years rather than tens or hundreds of million years [55].
