Storage stages are interleaved with transformation stages, which are either algorithmic (marked as arrow-shaped triangles, they explicitly advance the resolution of the problem associated to their input) or restrictive (marked with a diamond shape, these tests refine algorithmic inputs diverting simple flows through feedback loops to previous storage stages).
