Preparation of the variable database. Datasets obtained from various sources (such as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) [7], GBIF [8] and WRI [17]) were mapped to a common structure. Derived variables were treated as new variables. Time series of datasets were retained, but only the latest available data were used for the working database.
