Consistent with a visual inspection of images (Figure 3), EAST(1-1902)-GFP misexpression leads to a delay in muscle atrophy. (b) The extent of the muscle silhouettes can be used to quantify phenotypic differences in cell shape. The progression towards irregular cell morphology is accompanied by a decrease in extent. In contrast, the corresponding values in controls remain constant while the shape of the muscle fiber maintains its straight morphology.
