The label of an internal node x of T corresponds to s(x). Speciation nodes are represented by circles and duplication nodes by squares. The pre-speciation duplication nodes (here only one node) are grey-colored. The dotted lines represent losses that are inferred by a most parsimonious reconciliation algorithm. The duplication cost of T is 3 and its reconciliation cost is 5.
