Panel A: For each of the 174 MEROPS families, we counted the number of Pfam families that the MEROPS family overlapped. See the text for definition of an overlap. The frequency (i.e. number of MEROPS families) was plotted for each number of overlaps. Panel B: For each of the 162 Pfam families that overlapped at least one MEROPS family, we counted the number of MEROPS families that the Pfam family overlapped.
