(Top) Correlation coefficients of 2,976 genes in wild-type flies examined at 66 time points beginning at fertilization and spanning the embryonic, larval, and pupal periods as well as the first 30 days of adulthood. (Bottom) The most significant cases are shown. Two transition periods are apparent from the correlations. The continuity and strength of the correlations are unique to the D. melanogaster data.
