The morph.close.open estimates at the top are consistently higher than the morph.open estimates. The relationship between the estimates and the background levels is approximately linear as indicated by the solid lines. The dashed line is the identity function. The bias (difference between the solid and the dashed lines) increases faster in the red channel because of a larger increase in standard deviation, cf. Figure 2.
