Enrichment of predicted NF-κB target genes in genes regulated by putative NF-κB-dependent stimuli. The statistical significance of the abundance of predicted NF-κB target genes is assessed in sets of genes regulated by cytokines (IL-1β alone or IL-1β +IFN-γ) or double stranded RNA (tested in the form of polyinosinic-polycytidylic acid, PIC) against sets of genes which do no respond to these stimuli. The set labeled as "NO-independent" indicates that NO-dependent genes were removed, since they may be indirectly regulated by NO production. *P < 0.005; **P < 0.0005; ***P < 0.0001 vs. non-regulated gene set (Fisher's exact test).
