From top to bottom, the Viterbi response improves as the number of steps increases in the decoding HMM's approximation of the 1 k-step generating HMM's Poisson durations. From left to right in each plot, the Viterbi response improves as the separation of the 2 levels (emission means) increases. Result of 1 k steps used in the Viterbi decoding HMM's approximation of the 1 k-step generating HMM's Poisson durations.
