In the case of trees displaying a significant lack of overlap, such as T 1 and T 2 , it can be preferable to propose a non-plenary supertree, such as ST 2 . In this way, more information on the evolutionary relationships among the species included in the supertree can be obtained. ST1 is inferred by MRP (the same tree is obtained by PhySIC), ST2 by PhySIC_IST.
