Discons Work Flow. The schematic work flow of the DisCons sequence analysis pipeline is displayed along with a sample output table, showing the DisCons profile of human calpastatin domain I [Swiss-Prot:P20810]. The procedure starts either from a query sequence, followed by a BLASTP or PSI-BLAST search and the aligning of the retrieved sequences, or from a user-provided multiple sequence alignment. Next, position-specific sequence- and disorder conservation scores are calculated and finally these pairwise scores are combined to create the (aligned) DisCons profile. The result of one such classification is displayed at the bottom of the figure.
