PCR confirmation of the RNase III in-frame deletion mutant. Lane L shows DNA size markers. Lane 1 shows the PCR product using genomic DNA from the wild type (HSC5) strain. The product has the expected size of ~1.2 kb. Lane 2 shows the PCR product using genomic DNA from the rnc inframe deletion mutant. The PCR product is supposed to be 372 bps smaller than that of the wild type. The primers used for this PCR are 5-GGTCTACTGACAAATATGAAAGGG-3 and 5-CAGTATCTTTAGTCTGTCTTTCTTGAGC-3
