Profile variance within SNP islands across individuals. The SNP profile for each individual at the SNP island level was evaluated to determine the variability of SNP profiles within SNP islands. SNP islands are grouped as containing high variability (≥6 species), moderate variability (4–5 species), and low variability (≤3 species) according to the numbers of haplotype island species observed across all individuals. The numbers within the bars represent the absolute number of observed SNP island species
