Overview of the WebNetCoffee resources. We manually collected our testing datasets from eight openly accessible databases for up to 15 species. Protein-protein interactions (PPIs) and protein sequences were extracted from IntAct, STRING, DIP, BioGRID, UniProt, and Ensembl. Protein annotation data such as gi number and gene ontology annotations were extracted from the NCBI Protein and Uniprot-GOA project. Using the BLAST package, we performed pairwise sequence alignments to search for similar protein sequences
