Interrelationship between subtypes, populations, first line treatments and drug targets for Type II Diabetes. The figure shows the triangular interrelationships between T2D subtypes, genes identified in each population in this study, first line T2D treatments in these populations, the drug targets of these first line treatments, and their implications in T2D subtypes. For example, in the US, insulin resistance is the most common T2D subtype and Metformin is the first-line T2D treatment. The drug target of Metformin is PRKAB1 which is implicated in insulin resistance and is harbored by the US population in this study
