For a set of chain lengths, \(D'=\{d_1, \ldots , d_I\}\) and number of chains, \(W'=\{w_1, \ldots , w_J\}\), we take the mean of the absolute difference between the consensus matrix for \((d_i, w_j)\) and \((d_{i-1}, w_{j})\) (here \(D'=\{101, 501, 1001, 2001, \ldots , 10{,}001\}\) and \(W'=\{100, 500, 1000\}\))
