Svd values plotted above the dashed blue lines are in the 99th percentile of all positive values computed for the whole chromosome 2 in each of the population samples. The 1-Mb segment containing the LCT and MCM6 genes is plotted in red. A strong and clear signal of positive selection is found in this region in CEU, while no signal is detected in the two other populations.
