The detection event is given by polymer (ssDNA in [7–26]) translocations that are delayed if bound (side and end configurations shown). If bound entity is on the trans side (with cis-side capped, or vice versa), and bound entity is a processive DNA enzyme, then sequencing may be possible as described in [15, 27–30].
