Hybridization thermodynamics would predict a constant ratio. The analysis, however, shows that this ratio depends on the organism. Within a given species PM/MM ratios are rather constant, they do not seem to depend on tissue analyzed or other biological conditions. Very few outliers are found within each organism (see discussion in the text).
