Graphical representation of an example of mapping rules for Inparanoid. This resource consists of 595 files with orthology information from a pair of organisms. A mapping rule allows for gathering all files in a single one in order to obtain the orthology clusters. Then, mapping rules such as the ones represented in this figure connect the orthology information to the corresponding concepts in the OGO ontology. We can see in this figure how the species and genes identifiers are associated to the corresponding concepts of the ontology.
