Graphical representation of the fourteen elementary modes obtained from the network of Corynebacterium glutamicum. Ammonia is consumed in glutamate synthesis reaction, while oxygen is consumed in the oxidative phosphorylation reaction (not shown in the figure). All elementary modes were associated with glucose, ammonia and oxygen as substrates. The detailed stoichiometries of these elementary modes are listed in Additional file 2.
