The hybridization node with in-degree 4 of the left tree T 1 can be resolved, amongst others, into two different stacks of hybridization nodes (v 1,v 2,v 3) as demonstrated by T 2 and T 3, respectively. Note that by resolving a hybridization node into a stack of hybridization nodes the set of trees that are displayed in the original network remains unchanged
