BLOSUM-FIRE is not optimised for performance and has the highest execution times and requires the most memory after T-COFFEE compared to the widely used algorithm. It is important to note that BLOSUM-FIRE is implemented in an interpreted language and the other algorithms are implemented in compiled languages
