Example of five clusters, shown in heat maps. Next to the heat maps, small bar charts show the within-cluster distances which enables an analyst to evaluate the fit of individual elements to the cluster. The records are sorted by fit, hence the worst fitting records are shown at the bottom of each cluster. The grayscale heat map on the right shows the distance of each record to each other cluster, i.e., the first column shows the fit to the first cluster, the second column shows the fit to the second cluster, etc. Columns that correspond to the within-cluster distances are empty
