Architecture of the network. The network is a reduced version of U-Net, with one set of layers removed to maintain symmetry of the U-Net. Image patches are real examples of inputs and outputs, selected by maximum activation. More intermediate outputs are presented in Additional file 1. Each image patch is normalized for better visibility before adding to stack of patches
