Filtering pathway results from pyruvate to lysine. The number of unique pathways found by HPAT from pyruvate to lysine for different combinations of maximum path length and minimum number of conserved carbons cutoffs (a maximum net ATP consumed of one is also applied for all combinations). The number of pathways includes all possible combinations of precomputed subpaths between hub pairs, and the number of known pathways that can be found using each filtering combination is reported in parentheses. All five known pyruvate synthesis pathways used as test cases in this paper are displayed when the max path length = 11 and minimum carbons conserved = 2. The visualization of the results for two different filtering combinations (length=9, carbons conserved=2, and length=11, carbons conserved=2) are shown on the right
