Note that the 0 h-2 consists of two dissimilar ranges: (35–50 bp) and (50–100 bp). After normalization the valid (red filled) peaks are much closer together. (b) Consequently, the more accurate fragment lengths and peak areas in the ranges are accompanied by an increase in the quality scores.
